I’m Paris Permenter, the founder of My AussieDoodle. My husband and I live in the country outside Austin, Texas with our AussieDoodle, Isla, and our Border Collie mix, Barli (and our three cats–Inca, Lucky and Jetty!)
John and I are longtime writers, authoring 35 pet and travel books. You also might know us from our other dog website, DogTipper.com, or our dog walking accessories store, YuckyPuppy.com!
We enjoy traveling with Isla and Barli, whether that’s a day trip to the Texas Hill Country or a longer trip to the coast.

My Background
John and I have authored over 2,000 magazine articles and 35 books. We started our careers writing Caribbean and Texas guidebooks then in 2008 we changed to pet writing.
Since then, we’ve written The Healthy Hound Cookbook and Texas with Dogs (both with Simon & Schuster) and more.
John and I have also written for many pet publications from Chewy to Rover. Since 2012, we have written the “Bowser on a Budget” column for FIDO Friendly magazine. I’m a member of the Dog Writers Association of America.
I’m also a certified dog trainer and enjoy training our dogs.
